This is a short promo video for the 2012 National March For Life that will be held Thursday May 10, 2012 at Parliament Hill, Ottawa, Ontario. This 2 min 23 sec video is ideal for classroom or church presentations, and a great introduction to the largest pro-life event of the year. Please join us in the nation’s capital for this annual civil rights march. Help us send a message the Prime Minister and our members of parliament, that the killing of 100000+ babies per year is an intolerable injustice that must be rectified. Last year, we had over 15000 Canadians march to demand legal protection for children in the womb. Will you help us reach 20000 this year?
No I am worried about having to give birth to the child of the person that raped you. Aslo having to deal with the dangers of pregnancy on their personal health and their professional and social situations.
they dont have to keep the child if that is what they are worried about
adoption is an option
When was the last time you read about Norma McKorvey from Roe v. Wade???
Im asking this peacefully and not to change your mind necessarily but before you decide on this subject go over to Priests for Life and go to their search I believe at the bottom or their home page put in rape and incest for information purposes only.
I am saying that victims of rape and incest should have the right to abort. Why should they have to deal with the risks of a unwanted pregnancy that was violently hurled upon them. Selfish? If it is selfish to not have the baby of your incestuous father or priest or rapist. Then yes. They have that right to be selfish.
We criminalize abortion because it is a crime. It’s legal murder. What is the difference between you and an unborn baby, Why is it legal to kill the baby and not you? Us marching is helping people. We are saving the unborn babies that cannot speak for themselves,
So what you’re saying is that women should murder their own babies because they don’t want to have stretch marks or health risks? Sounds pretty selfish to me.
Cool.
Stay home from bullshit marches. Criminalizing abortion helps no one.
Nope. Never said anything about forcing anyone to do anything. What I *did* say was that I would appeal to the woman to consider the life of the child. That’s all. Just to ask herself if the child is deserving of her vengeance – if anything would be served by ending it’s life instead of letting it live and giving it up for adoption. That’s the best answer I can find in my worldview for this extreme fringe of the debate.
It is a choice that women have and should continue to have. You say you don’t put a best solution label on anything but your words indicate other wise. For you the best solution is forcing a women to carry a unwanted child to term, taking on all of the associated risk to their job, health and life and then sticking the baby in a orphanage.
Don’t like murder? Don’t kill anyone.
It sounds like you would enforce abortion, no matter what. Is that the case? Can you accuse me of being a zealot if this is the case? Would you at least respect the womans decision? Unlike you, I never put a “best solution” label on anything.
Put aside their feelings? Are you kidding me. They have been raped and seeded with a hell spawn. How are they not supposed to mind the consequences of pregnancy that will scar them for life? Stretch marks, health problems, inability to do what they like, potential risk to their own life due to child birth ect…
The best solution is abortion.
I would never force a victim of rape or abuse to keep a baby. What I would do is beg them to please not take revenge upon an unborn child. That solves nothing. Consider the life of the child and ask if they can put aside their own feelings just long enough to bring it to term. There are so many support groups for them to go to that could help with this. The situation is extremely difficult and, fortunately, not that common.
Abuse is always the most tragic situation. Our system has failed so many, and yet many more have been rescued and placed with loving, adoptive families. What we really need to do is educate the public, teach people how they can get involved and report abuse before it becomes violent. CAS needs to be more proactive and work closely with police to rescue at risk children. This is how we can break the cycle of violence and abuse. We won’t do it by simply aborting children.
For me the point is life itself. The core of the issue is: do we embrace life or do we embrace death? Do we euthanize the infirm and the elderly and abort the unborn, or do we embrace life and do our best to make it the best life it can be? I hate to see any child go into foster care, but I’ve also witnessed some great outcomes from it. One kid on our street was adopted at 13 years old by his best friends mother. Another special needs boy was adopted last year and (i’m told) is flourishing.
One of my children has Loeys-Dietz syndrome. He is considered “special needs” but he’s lucky to have a very mild case. I’ve seen far worse. Still, I don’t have the money at this point to be adopting more children – which is very expensive from what I’ve heard. Nor do I have the space (which would likely disqualify me anyway) We have a foster home on our street and those children at least seem quite content there – at least from outward appearances. The foster parents are Christians.
A kid may be “saved” but if they have a terrible life of abuse and no no hopes of a future then the kid doesn’t feel “saved”.
The point is the quality of life, I am not specifically referring to you at all but usually pro-life activist care for the life at conception but doesn’t care about anything after and abandons the kid. Foster care isn’t always a best place for a child to grow up and the point is to have as many kids with the best possible future. Not just having as many childrean.
dont like abortions? dont get one
I’ll listen but, like I said, unless you’re willing to take a couple of special needs foster care kids into your home your “concern” just sounds like “hypocrisy.”
