Oliver Wyman Names The Doe Fund as the Sole Beneficiary of Annual Gala

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 27, 2012

Friday April 13: The room grew crowded as the bidding began. The prizes ranged from whimsical (decorating a conference room of your choice in the style of your choice) to luxurious (a round-trip flight to anywhere in the world). The crowdall employees of the international consultancy firm Oliver Wymanbid with gusto, energized by the fact that all proceeds would be donated to a cause which they had voted on: The Doe Fund.

For more than 25 years, the award-winning New York-based nonprofit has provided a hand upnot a hand outto homeless and formerly incarcerated men. Through paid work opportunities, educational and career development classes, and a range of social services, The Doe Fund works with clients to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and crime. The Doe Funds most visible initiative, Ready, Willing & Able, puts hundreds of men to work in bright blue uniforms each day. These men in blue clean more than 150 miles of New York City streets and sidewalks each day, removing more than 9,600 tons of garbage annually as part of a transitional work and soft-skills training program.

Each year, Oliver Wyman elects one nonprofit as the sole beneficiary of their Gala. This year, Oliver Wyman employees were struck by the story of one Doe Fund graduate, who completed the rigorous Ready, Willing & Able program, was hired as a Case Manager at the same organization, and re-united with his children all in one year.

Oliver Wyman could not be more delighted with the success of this event and with our partnership with The Doe Fund, said Michael Poulos, the head of Oliver Wymans financial services practice in the Americas. We cannot imagine a better, or more worthy, partner. The Doe Funds mission to help individuals achieve dignity and self-sufficiency through workand their success in fulfilling itreally drove our teams enthusiasm.

George McDonald, Founder and President of The Doe Fund, echoed Mr. Poulos sentiment. We are so grateful for the enthusiasm and generosity of Oliver Wyman and its employees. The organization is a tremendous partner in helping thousands of individuals to re-establish self-sufficiencynot only for themselves but for their children.
