The package includes the adrenaline experience of an all-day zipline canopy tour in the 1500 year old Chiang Mai rainforest with the education and fascination provided by seeing 400 animals in their natural habitat at the Chiang Mai Zoo on the second day.
Since Flight of the Gibbon ziplining is suitable for children at least 1 meter (33) tall, the package provides families looking for two days of activity in the Chiang Mai area a tour option not available anywhere else in Thailand.
Flight of the Gibbons zipline canopy tour originates from the ancient village of Mao Kompong in the jungle about 55 minutes from Chiang Mai. High atop the trees are platform lookouts, sky bridges and stations that allow flyers to abseil down from the tall trees. Up to five kilometers of ziplines propel visitors through different layers of the rainforest canopy. Soar between up to 39 different stations, just like our namesake Gibbons, who visitors often see in the trees nearby. Each zipline adventure includes pick up and transportation to and from Chiang Mai, about 3 hours up in the treetops, lunch, and a waterfall trek after the zipline tour concludes.
The Chiang Mai Zoo places an emphasis on replicating the habitats of the nearly 400 different species visitors can see there, including elephants, tigers, chimpanzees, hippopotami, and the only rhino in Thailand. The zoo also features some outstanding special attractions such as the zoo’s stars – Chuang Chuang and Lin Hui, two young pandas, and a walk through aviary. The package includes a ride on the zoos Tram which takes visitors around the attractions and includes educational and environmental details about the animals and their habitats. The zoos freshwater aquarium and snow dome are not included but can be purchased at the zoo.
